Po’ delta. There are hundreds of abandoned houses scattered in Po’ delta region.
Po’ delta. We turn one of
these houses into a water filtration facility with gardens and collective spaces open to the public.
Po’ delta.
Water filtration happens open-air, in the form of constructed wetlands with lush vegetation.
These ponds increase the water retention capacity of the soil.
Po’ delta.
The ground floor hosts technical plants, while the first floor is turned into a collective space serving the neighbourhood – a precious resource in a region of single family houses.
Po’ delta.
The spaces on the first floor could also be used as a shelter in case of flooding.
Po’ delta.
The abandoned house becomes a living ruin, celebrating its occupation by the natural forces.
Po’ delta. The project has been developed at Research Lab organized by Haus der Architektur at Universität Stuttgart.
